CLASS DEPENDENCY

One of the key terms of interpretive pragmatist sociology is class dependency, developed by H.A. Tanhaei since 1994[1], explained and expanded gradually through 2003 [2], up to the present time. The term shows the symbolic as well as the interpretive essence of social reality during everyday life and class structure of the society. Based on Tanhaei’s inductive historical studies on social stratification, class affiliation provides considerable motivation for either individuals or social groups to immigrate to another class as well as cross-category buying. Class dependency cannot be explained through those sociological paradigms in which class structures is seen as something artificial, pre-determined. It’s through the lenses of interpretive approach that class affiliation indicates the dialectical reality of social setting. This social setting is based on people’s concurrent interpretations through joint actions within acting units.
